Book Review-A Taste of Midnight

First Impressions

A Taste of Midnight was such a great novella….its a story that is under 100 pages but doesn’t feel like its under 100 pages. There is a strong plot, great romantic development with a couple of spice scenes included so it will work for many readers that aren’t looking for a smut themed novella. I really appreciated that the author wrote an actual story and that it was so engaging I didn’t want it to end. The premise was really interesting but definitely revitalized my love of this genre and why I want to get back to reading more paranormal romance again.

What I Loved

I think I really loved the rediscovering of these two and them finding the way to be together. We learn that Bran has loved Banika for centuries but had to give her up because she fell in love with his best friend. Seeing the way that he has pined for her all of these years, working undercover to bring down a dangerous trafficking ring but now its all in danger when the one he is working to bring down wants to destroy Danika. We see how he makes Danika a priority to protect her at all costs no matter the risk to him. Seeing them reconnect together was truly endearing and I can’t wait to return to the series.

What I Struggled With

Honestly nothing much, it wasn’t a perfect story or anything but it did have some flaws but nothing significant….just not a five star read but it was very solid and kept me highly engaged and I didn’t want to put this down.

Overall Thoughts

A Taste of Midnight was a vibrant and thrilling novel that kept me on the edge of my seat!
