Sunday Post ( Weekly Recap: 33) This week was a Sunday Post ( Weekly Recap: 33)

This week was a bit better than how I have felt in recent weeks. Work was pretty busy this week but it went by really quick so I won’t complain on it. But I did get a more likeable shift so instead of 9-5 ...its 7-3 and its so much better especially in not having to deal with traffic like before. I did have some good reading this week and was able to visit my folks over the weekend. I am getting excited for football to return and its coming close! I don’t do much with sports but when it comes to watching College Football is one of my weaknesses. I am eager for Summer to end soon. And we are slowly starting to feel it. The mornings and evenings are slowly starting to feel cooler. And the morning and evening glows are becoming shorter (which makes my heart sad its the one thing I truly love about summer)

My Rating-4.5 Blossoms

Quick Thoughts: This BOOK was a true mafia gem! This is the type of book that you will feel deep to the heart. And this is how GROVELS should be handled. It was just enough to work without it crossing the line of inappropriate or cringe. I also fell hard for the heroine. Seeing what she faces and I found it refreshing that the author tackles Yakuza mafia and I hope we see more of that in the future and man I want the brothers book so bad and I hope one day the author writes it.

Welcome back to #romanceopoly of 2026. I am loving Welcome back to #romanceopoly of 2026. I am loving this new look for the reading challenge game and I have loved what these ladies over at @utcbookblog have in planned for the year through the different seasonal events and clubs. For my way of rolling for Romanceopoly, I have been doing it randomly over the board so its like a game.

My Pick: Honor Bound by Michelle Howard —- I am just about finished and absolutely loving it!!!!!! I can’t wait for part two of their story. This features marriage of convenience, sci fi fantasy, barbarian warlord hero who needs kissing lessons and a heroine full of grace, kindness and strength.

So for my roll for this one was Fantasy Theory: Battle & Bond Academy

Prompt: Read a romance featuring a warrior, warlord, assassin, or protector.

Have you read this author, Michelle Howard? Do you love a good warlord-themed romance? Let me know in the comments below!
Book Review-Fallen Gods by Rachel Van Dyken My R Book Review-Fallen Gods by Rachel Van Dyken

My Rating-6 Star

Quick Thoughts:
I ADORED this book in every way. The Norse mythology was fascinating. Such a well written enemies to lovers. The forbidden love elements was top notch. And the ending was perfection and I can’t wait for book two. I adored the way in which we see this couple really come together and the secrets being unfolded in this one here. Rachel Van Dyken is proving to be a TRUE QUEEN in anything she writes.

This was such fun to do and had the perfect theme for the month! So if you are a swiftie fan, I hope you appreciate what I chose for this one here. And if you arent’....that’s cool too....I still recommend all of these books to you if you haven’t read them yet!

What books would you choose for these prompts that I need to prioritize on my TBR? Let me know in the comments below!
Book To Film Adaptation Review-Come Away With Me b Book To Film Adaptation Review-Come Away With Me by Kristen Proby

This past week I was able to see the adaptation of Come Away With Me on Passionflix and I was fairly excited for this one here. However, the one major issue I had with this one was the casting. Its my least favorite that Passionflix has ever done. Ironically the side couple with the roommate had a better fit to the books than the main couple did. And while the acting and the scene portrayal was pretty amazing ....I just couldn’t let go of this issue I had with the casting. It actually surprises me because Passionflix is normally better about this. So while its very true to the story ....I recommend letting go of expectations for the cast to enjoy it fully.

Sunday Post (Weekly Recap: #32) I really had a g Sunday Post (Weekly Recap: #32)

I really had a good week, still recovering from heat stroke mostly had a need to do a lot of resting during the week. But on Friday I felt more normal than I have in weeks. I was able to get my work desk and my home all decorated for fall (yes I know its a bit early but I normally like to start it early, ironically it does help things feel a bit cooler) So while my reading wasn’t the best, I am hoping with feeling healthy again I can read at a more normal pace now.

Book Review-Surrender to a Scoundrel by Julianne M Book Review-Surrender to a Scoundrel by Julianne MacLean

My Rating: 4 Stars

Quick Thoughts: It was such a refresher to return to this book and finish the series like this. I absolutely adored this story. I loved the setting of sailing on the coast in Victorian England, the casual affair, the tortured hero grieving over his late wife and son and a heroine who has never known affection or true intimacy and exploring that with the man she has always loved since she was a girl. It had everything I look for in a historical romance and more. Highly HIGHLY recommend!

Weekly Recap: Week 30: August Reset + Heat Stroke Weekly Recap: Week 30: August Reset + Heat Stroke Drama

This was a better week of reading with 7 books. I can’t wait for things to get back to normal with 8-10 books though. But it was a bit better this week work wise and being able to do some blog work throughout the week. I wasn’t able to read much on Saturday though, I had planned on 3 books or more but then I woke up super dehydrated and sick with heat stroke. I hadn’t realized how hot I was on Friday and could barely function on Saturday until the evening. I HATE Summertime lol I am hoping Sunday will be better so I can relax and enjoy my day off. I probably would have preferred to be sick during work to be honest and not on my days off.

Welcome All! So I am going back to sharing the boo Welcome All! So I am going back to sharing the books I have on my monthly TBR. This list isn’t guaranteed as my weekly TBR changes from week to week, I haven’t gotten to the point where I can do a strict monthly TBR yet (one day)

But this is what I hope to get to for June! We are now in the middle of summer and not loving the heat as its been making me sick; but hopefully time will fly by for the summertime.

What is on your list that you hope to get to this month? Let me know in the comments below!
Book Review-One Shattered Crown by Rebecca Zanetti Book Review-One Shattered Crown by Rebecca Zanetti

My Rating-5 Stars

My quick thoughts: This book kept me on the edge of my seat! Absolutely adored it in every way but I expected no different with it being a Rebecca Zanetti. And I can’t seem to get enough of this series from her. Some of my favorite dark romances hands down.

Book Release of 2026 Feature-Part Of Your World by Book Release of 2026 Feature-Part Of Your World by Karen Witemeyer

I recently read this book and I absolutely loved this one. It was everything I could have expected and more. There is something that just hits right with these fairy tale retellings that this author implements. The blend of faith, historical settings, and strong connection to retellings is so powerful. She really writes books that feel so true to the original tales we all grew up with.

Weekly Recap: Week 29: Pioneers’ Day Weekend Thi Weekly Recap: Week 29: Pioneers’ Day Weekend

This was a pretty solid week. Work was pretty busy as end of month is much more busy and focused on reaching goals. So I was pretty drained in all of that for the week. I can’t wait until mentally I adjust to this new job, its just very different from my previous one. But each week gets a little bit better. I did much better with my reading goals for the week and it was Pioneers Day this week so I really loved that. For Utah and my members of my faith, its a pretty big deal. So I did spend the weekend watching some of my favorite films on it….films based on a historical fiction series “Work and the Glory. But will be spending the day on Sunday just relaxing with some books.

Book Review-Beneath The Stars by A..L. Jackson M Book Review-Beneath The Stars by A..L. Jackson

My Rating-Five Stars

Quick Thoughts: I LOVED how electric this romance kicks off with. This has forbidden love, some rock star lovin’, a bit of blackmail from the villain and a whole lot of smexy lovin from our couple that builds on yearning and chemistry in such beautiful of ways. If you are a romance reader, this author needs to be on your list but I would like to focus on you doing AUDIO for this author. She has a lyrical style and narration style is the best way to consume this author and her stories.

Well this wasn’t the best reading week I have ever had lol I was busy with work of course and getting some templates and all my book reviews got up this past week. So that was my focus and unfortunately I was in a mood for some Blue Bloods. I am hoping that this week I can get back to my reading routine because I have really missed reading.

Weekly Recap: Week 25: Job Official + Blog Hosting Weekly Recap: Week 25: Job Official + Blog Hosting Ahead

Well I have completed my two weeks of training, just have to finish up nesting which is the job full time and meeting certain requirements which are fairly manageable to be official. I just am happy to be back to working again. I didn’t like the anxiety of not having income coming in even though I had savings. You just never know how long it can take to get a new job. I did better with reading this week, at least better than last week. I am hoping this upcoming week will even be stronger as my anxiety is definitely leveling off.

I do have plans to get moving forward with hosting soon. I am not sure how long it will take me to get set up though, it has been so long since I did hosting and not sure how easy the imports and setting up my block building theme I had before. So any good advice or any good hosting you love to use (only one I won’t use is Bluehost) would be most welcome unless you have already reached out and if you have (THANK YOU!!!! )

Weekly Recap: Week 24: Job Training Begins + 24 Bi Weekly Recap: Week 24: Job Training Begins + 24 Binging

Well I started my new job officially and completed the first week of training. It was pretty mentally exhausting though as its mostly just learning new processes and feeling like I am at school again lol I am kinda ready to just get to the job. Which we should do next week. But I pretty much came home every night just mentally tired so didn’t get much read during the week but I did pack my weekend in with some books. I am hoping this upcoming week will be better book wise. I did get a bit consumed with 24 and kinda binged a few of the seasons this week.

Book Review-Crow by A. Zavarelli My Rating-Five Book Review-Crow by A. Zavarelli

My Rating-Five Stars

Quick Thoughts: I absolutely ADORED this book in every way. It had me in a chokehold from beginning to end. And even though it had a couple of TSTL moments from the heroine, I was so captivated by their chemistry and their deeply layered love story and how they sacrifice for each other was so achingly beautiful. We just don’t get mafia romance like this anymore and I can’t wait to dig deeper into the rest of the series.
