First Impressions
Part Of Your World had all the magic and love that you can come to expect from a Karen Witemeyer, especially within her fairytale retellings. This book was packed with so much magic and yearning, and it really connected so well with the original fairy tale and film of The Little Mermaid. What I truly appreciate about this author is how close her retellings are to the tales we all grew up with and love while also adding in her own spiritual tune with it along the way. If you ever wanted to see Eric and Ariel in a way that inspires one to be a better person, then this is a book for you.
I don’t want to be part of this world….I want to be part of yer world. Where ya are, that’s where I want to be….

What I Loved
Every time I pick up a Karen Witemeyer, especially her fairytale retellings I get sucked into a world that captivates me from beginning to end. And as someone who also appreciates a well-written retelling, this author’s style in captivating these old tales works so quickly. There are so many little connections that will wrap your heart in the coral and reefs of the essence of this beautiful mermaid retelling. I was really excited for this one especially since Little Mermaid was always a favorite of mine, and I was really hoping that this author would find a way to make a western fit in with these retellings but I knew it might be challenging considering the setting her books are in and most of them aren’t coastal lol BUT BOY DOES THIS PACK THE PUNCH IT NEEDS TO AND MORE!
She was blessed. Blessed with music, with family…with a home by the sea. Blessed with a Heavenly Father who exhibited endless patience and an earth da who loved her enough to expect more from her than she expected from herself.
From beginning to end, I was drawn into this coastal Texas town, the bright culture and the gentle heart that it embodies in such a relatable way. Both Zane and Muriel are superb characters and so well developed. I especially appreciated how Muriel is written in this one. In fact, if you are thirsting for well-written heroines, then this author is a must for you. Muriel is the type of heroine every woman should hope to be one day. She is honest and vibrant and searching for something more in her life. But she also makes some honest mistakes in that search, and she takes quick accountability for it all and makes every effort to make sure she is as honest and true as she can be. I found Muriel to be a breath of fresh air, especially since its been a while since I have read a heroine I have truly loved. The romance is so deep in this one, and seeing how their faith drives them towards being seekers of love and honest rewards is the perfect cherry on top. There is such intense yearning between these two, and seeing them work together to find their way to beat the villain in the end along with their loved ones was everything. Definitely going to be living rent-free for quite some time with this one here.
What I Struggled With
Nothing much. Sometimes I would get distracted away from the narration, but I still had the time of my life.
Narration
The narration is pretty solid. Not the best in the world or anything, but it really comes alive and this narrator does a really superb job with this author’s writing style.
Overall Thoughts
Part Of Your World will deliver uplifting spiritual themes while captivating the romantic heart of each reader it comes into contact with in such vibrant methods of music, yearning, and zest for life!

She saved him from the sea. He awakened her heart. Now a villainous scheme threatens to destroy them both.
Seawater runs through Muriel Quinn’s veins—a fact that has long concerned her father, who longs for his youngest daughter to abandon the waves and embrace the respectable life expected of a grown woman. Yet even when banished from her beloved sea, Muriel feels its pull upon her soul. Drawn to the shore, she witnesses a boating accident and dives in to save a man from drowning. As she brings him back from the brink of death, a dream stirs to life in her heart.
Despite his family’s wealth and social standing, Zane Erickson pursues a career in architecture, having no interest in cementing a match with any of the bridal candidates his mother foists upon him. Until a mysterious beauty saves his life and vanishes before he can learn her name. Determined to find her, he is stunned when the matchmaker his mother hired arrives with the very woman who has haunted his dreams. But he soon learns there are darker forces than romance at work in this meeting.
Entangled in a blackmail scheme that grows more deceitful and dangerous by the day, Zane and Muriel must fight not only for their love, but for the lives of those they hold dear.
