Weekly Wrap Up
Sunday Post: Week #: 29
Weekly Recap is a weekly recap post that was originally themed after “Sunday Post” which you can find from Caffeinated Reviewer and you can find out more about it on her weekly posts. But the gist of it is where we share our weekly updates, what we are reading and what we are looking forward to for the upcoming week.
Weekly News
This was a pretty solid week. Work was pretty busy as end of month is much more busy and focused on reaching goals. So I was pretty drained in all of that for the week. I can’t wait until mentally I adjust to this new job, its just very different from my previous one. But each week gets a little bit better. I did much better with my reading goals for the week and it was Pioneers Day this week so I really loved that. For Utah and my members of my faith, its a pretty big deal. So I did spend the weekend watching some of my favorite films on it….films based on a historical fiction series “Work and the Glory. But will be spending the day on Sunday just relaxing with some books.
Books Read
This was a pretty solid reading week….not as great as I had originally wanted it but I am still in the adapting phase for work and just about every day I came home exhasted lol But I did read more than last week. But It was nice focusing on books more this week. Some of my favorites would be Beneath The Stars and Reaper were very incredible and Part Of Your World was a beyond charming retelling of Little Mermaid. And the audiobook was perfection! I also finished off my Saturday with Midnight Bayou after watching the adaptation…..it was interesting lol not what I expected from a Nora Roberts to be honest but I haven’t read too many of her unconventional stories yet. The biggest disappointment was the Bella Matthews. I ended up having to DNF it. The heroine was such a badly written black cat.

Current Reads
I hadn’t realized until this weekend that Twisted Road had been released by Christine Feehan and its one of the series I do want to keep up with this author is more romance focused and I hoping its going to be good as I have been disappointed by some of her other releases in other series lately. Then will be reading a dark romance with Craving Danger by Michelle Heard. Then will be picking up a historical romance with Surrender to a Scoundrel by Julianne MacLean.

Upcoming Releases I Am Anticipating
My Weekly TBR
I have a pretty good lineup for the week. And I wanted to get a good mix of new and old releases with a balance of sub genres a bit. For new releases I have Tempting Venom by Rina Kent and One Shattered Crown by Rebecca Zanetti. Then I wanted to finish the trilogy by Nora Roberts I am in the middle of. And I had to add in a good paranormal with a Taste of Midnight because why not ….its been a while since I have done a vamp romance. And then will pick up Rouge by Greer Rivers.
Recent Additions to the TBR Wishlist

I hope you enjoy Twisted Road! I thought it was good! Enjoy your week!
oooh!!! Good to know. Some of her others have been a bit disappointing lately just romance level but I am hoping this one is great! Thanks for stopping by!
Lots of good books! Hope you get a chance to get to the Meghan Quinn one soon, I’m reading and enjoying right now! I’m excited for my new job to start, but I know it will be a little stressful getting used to the difference. Moving to middle school library vs. the high school level I’ve worked at for the past 13 years will be a big change, more work! But I’m wanting the added work because it is being busy with classes as opposed to the office giving me secretarial work and then that keeping me from teaching the few classes I got at the high school level. So it’s a give and take, but I’m excited for it. Even with the anxiousness of a new situation. Hope you have a good week!
Yes! Starting a new job can most definitely add more anxiety and stress and mental adjustment. Hope you adjust smoothly there. Key is to be patient with yourself through the adjustment! I do like Meghan quinn even if I am not a big fan of her cover changes lol But I know she hates them too so that gives me comfort. But she really does great depth and layers with the humor. Cheers to a successful week for you.
So many good books to choose from. I’ve been wanting to try Meghan Quinn’s books. That one looks really good. I hope you enjoy your reading and have a great week!
Yes I do love a good variety in my reading as long as it has some romance lol Meghan Quinn is pretty good. I appreciate that she writes depth in rom coms’. Thanks for stopping by!
I am always amazed at the number of books you read every week Renee!
Aww thank you luv! I appreciate that! I just love my reading haha
I don’t read a lot of romance, but I see Kushiel’s Dart on your TBR. I did like those books a lot.
Good luck adjusting to your new job! It sounds like you’re doing better already.
Oh good to know. I have heard good things about them and I have been wanting to try out more fantasy to read. Yeah each week gets better with the job so I am adjusting, its just a slow process. I can’t wait until I feel normal again though.
You had a fantastic reading week! I’m a big fan of both Nora Roberts and Christine Feehan, so seeing Midnight Bayou on your list made me smile. I hope next week brings a little less exhaustion and just as many great reads. Happy Reading!
Looks like a good week! And ooh, I see Kushiel’s Dart has been added to your TBR — love Jacqueline Carey!
It is hard settling into a new job! I’ve enjoyed Nora Roberts in the past. She’s such a prolific writer! Hope you have a wonderful week, Renee!
DNFing Bella Matthews sounds like the right call if the heroine was that bad.
