Weekly Wrap Up
Sunday Post: Week #: 32
Weekly Recap is a weekly recap post that was originally themed after “Sunday Post” which you can find from Caffeinated Reviewer and you can find out more about it on her weekly posts. But the gist of it is where we share our weekly updates, what we are reading and what we are looking forward to for the upcoming week.
Weekly News
So this week was the final week of the sickness I suffered from etting heat stroke and unfortunately sometimes it does take this long to recover from it. This week was mostly just resting as I wanted to get rid of it and I did feel more exhausted than normal but by Friday I felt normal, more normal than I have felt in almost a month. We got some rain this past week and even parts of the state had some flooding but we REALLY need the moisture and I am enjoying the cooler weather in the evenings and mornings on it. I am hoping to finish up the review archive today so expect a post on that shortly. I did get my work desk and home decorated for FALL. I know it seems a bit early but I normally like to do it about halfway through August, it helps everything seem cooler lol Except some fall themed book recommendation posts on the rec database.
Books Read
It was an interesting reading week. Like you all know I have been recovering and I was super tired this week so I tended to sleep quite a bit after work during the week but by Friday I was starting to feel normal again. So this is what I read over the weekend for the most part. I did a reread of Come Away With Me while I did a watch of the new adaptation of it on Passionflix. My review is up for that review of the film. I did reread Surrender to a Scoundrel and finished up the American Heiresses series by Julianne MacLean and it was a blast and I loved the sailing theme on it. Fallen Gods was super interesting. It felt very academia like what I have read from her before but with a mythological fantasy vibe lol but she made it work in such a powerful way. Then we have Rouge by Greer Rivers and this is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet and we need more of these! Loved the set up of the hero being a strong protector and rescuing his lady.
Posts For The Past Week
Book Review-Surrender To A Scoundrel by Julianne MacLean
Book to Film Adaptation + Book Review-Come Away With Me by Kristen Proby
Current Reads
For my current audiobook today I will be listening to Making You Mine by Melissa Foster. I know this has a winter theme to it if the cover is any indication. And I am curious to see how this one will be handled but I trust this author to handle it in a way that will work for me. Very rarely does she write a bad book. Then I will be picking up Never Surrender by Lindsay McKenna. This was one of my romanceopoly prompts. Its a military romance, where the heroine gets kidnapped and tortured and the man who loves her will need to rescue her. This will also be my first Lindsay McKenna. So fingers crossed this will be a win.
